The existing group name of BTS was created using the word bulletproof, meaning bulletproof, meaning "boys who fight against prejudice and oppression in society in their teens and 20s." However, as overseas activities became more active, the meaning of the English name BTS needed to be unified. In the meantime, there was a lot of confusion about Bangtan Boys and Bulletproof Boy Scout. Through this rebranding project, BTS has created a new image of 'growth and transcendence of youth beyond reality' in consideration of the various musical moves that will carry out more concepts in the future. Thus, BTS was defined as the abbreviation for Beyond The Scene and expanded its meaning.
BTS is a seven-member South Korean boy band affiliated with Big Hit Entertainment that debuted on June 13, 2013. The group name " BTS" means that just as bulletproof blocks bullets, it will prevent prejudice and oppression in teenagers and twenties who suffer from hard work and protect their music and values. 기존의 방탄소년단의 그룹명은 총알을 막는다는 뜻의 단어 '방탄'을 사용하여, '10대와 20대가 사회에서 받는 편견과 억압에 맞서주는 소년들'이라는 의미를 가지고 탄생하였지만, 해외 활동이 활발해지면서 BTS라는 영문 표기명이 가진 의미의 통일성이 필요했습니다. 그동안은 BTS의 의미로 BangTan BoyS, Bullet proof Boy Scout 등의 많은 혼선이 있었거든요. 방탄소년단은 이번 리브랜딩 프로젝트를 통해, 앞으로 더 많은 콘셉트를 소화하는 다양한 음악적 행보를 고려하여 '현실을 뛰어넘는 청춘들의 성장과 초월'이라는 이미지를 새롭게 구축하였습니다. 그에 따라 BTS를 'Beyond The Scene'의 약자로 정의하여 그 의미를 좀 더 확장시켰습니다.
